You should follow our guidelines when choosing a builder but the most important check to make will be the insurance provider and policy number. The Code of conduct has three pages:
We recommend that you register a copy of the contract with us. We have discovered first hand that it's easy for someone to change or update a contract after it has been agreed and signed. We will retain a copy of the original contract and copies of it can be made available if required. If you are planning to have some work done then this is ideal for you, or even if you aren't, you never know when you will need building repair's. The UK Builders academy code of conduct costs just £5.00 (£6.00 if bought over the net to cover p&p) and doesn't expire. You can purchase one online by following the steps above or you can send a Stamped Self Addressed Envelope and a cheque for £5.00 to: UKBA PO Box 101 Washington Parade Bootle, Merseyside, L20 0AA |
